Our House
St. Andrew's Abbeyfield House provides companionship in a family environment for 9 older residents.  Each suite is a bed-sitting room with a  2-piece washroom.  All other areas - kitchen, dining lounge, sun room, utility room and two large bathrooms - are shared.

A live-in House Coordinator prepares two nutritious meals a day.  Breakfast is self-service. An alarm system links residents to the House Coordinator to ensure any sudden illness or emergency is immediately attended to.  In Abbeyfield, we believe that overcoming loneliness and insecurity while maintaining independence can make a big difference to the well-being and quality of life of our older residents.

Who Can Apply?
Persons 55 years and older who can look after themselves and their own medications.  No smoking is allowed.  Abbeyfield is not a nursing home, but in the event of illness, home care may be brought into he house.

What Will it Cost?
All the cost of operating the Abbeyfield House - the room, food, utilities and the services of the the House Coordinator and or her staff, are shared by all the residents.  Residents provide their own furnishings, telephone and cable service.  Rent subsidies are available for those who qualify.
